General Information


Beginning in the spring of 2005, new students will attend a lock-step program where students follow a set course plan. A few part-time students will be accepted, although most seating will be reserved for full-time enrollment. New students must apply to ESU (click here to apply) and to the Cohort Program (click here to apply). Seating is limited. Students are encouraged to complete the application processes prior to Sept. 15th for the spring sememster, and by Feb. 15th for the fall semester.

The program requires 136 hours for degree completion.

Full-time Option

- Year 1: General Education classes at KCKCC
- Year 2: General Education classes at KCKCC
- Year 3: Evening classes taught by ESU faculty who come to the KCKCC campus to teach.
- Year 4: Student teaching at a Professional Development School (8:00-4:00 Mon-Fri); some additional hours required

Part-time Option (very limited seating)

- General Education Classes/KCKCC: May be stretched out to meet individual needs at KCKCC
- ESU Program: 2 years: Evening classes taught by ESU faculty who come to the KCKCC campus to teach (6-8 hours per semester).
- Final Year: Student teaching at a Professional Development School (8:00-4:00 Mon-Fri)
